Il grande crollo dell'estate 2018 ha sfregiato il Trident e perduto molte fra le più belle fessure del Monte Bianco. Il distacco roccioso è partito dalla cengia Lepiney sulla parete ovest coinvolgendo anche gran parte dello scudo che si estendeva verso sud. Sono andate perse Eclipse, la parte bassa di Les Intouchables, la New Line a les Intouchables con la Pallndre, Bonne Ethique, la Diretta. Negli anni recentidopo il consolidamento delle pareti, nuove fessure hanno consentito il ripristino di Indurain e la nascita di Ethique Croulante nella zona di Bonne Ethique, con cui si raggiunge anche Les Intouchables,. L'elenco attuale:
The West is The Best: alla parete ovest si raggiunge dal canale Chandelle - Trident rimanendo a sinistra del crollo per rocce discontinue poi sale inmezzo alla parete per linee di fessura. Non ha ripetizioni.
Astro Zap si raggiunge dal canale Chandelle - Trident rimanendo a sinistra del crollo, segue due tiri della Bonatti Zappelli poi diventa indipendente in una serie di spettacolari fessure.
Les Intouchables (parte alta)*. Il tiro simbolo della via rimane intatto e si può raggiungere dalla cengia Lepiney dopo aver scalato Ethique Croulante.
Indurain New attacca al margine destro del crollo con una corda fissa per lo zoccolo. Tre tiri lunghezze di nuove superbe fessure raggiungono la via originale.
La Peau et Les Os sale la parete sud a destra del crollo partendo da una caratteristica fessura ad arco nello scudo. Fessure e un breve tiro face terminano in una zona più rotta che si evita proseguendo per L5 originale di Indurain fino alla cengia Lepiney. Si collega con Braille Crack per raggiungere la sommità.
iThe big rock crash of the 2018 summer deleted many important crack lines of the Trident du Taculs. The lost routes are: Eclipse, Les Intouchables low, the New Line to les Intouchables with Pallndre route, Bonne Ethique, the Direct Route. In the recent years Indurain has been restyled in the lower part as the Bonne Ethique sector with the new Ethique Croulante leading to the upper Les Intouchables. Sitill alive are:
The West is The Best: from the Chandelle - Trident gully climb easy ground in the west face, then crack lines to the top.
Astro Zap: from the Chandelle - Trident gully climb two pitches of Bonatti Zappelli route then climb an indipendent superb crack line to the top.
Les Intouchables (upper part)*. The iconic pitch of the route remains safe after the crash and is climbable followins Ethique Croulante.
Indurain New starts at the right side of the crash zone with a fixed rope assiting the initial scramble, then three pitches of super cracks lead the the original route.
La Peau et Les Os climbs the south face at the right of the crash starting from a characteristic arch crack. A superb crack line leads to L5 of Indurain (better than the original easy ground) to the Lepiney ledge. The connection with Braille Crack leads to the top.
